EYE SHADOW PALETTES REVIEWS

Updated: May 24, 2020

Purchasing a eye-shadow palette can be seriously exhausting , trust me I know from experience. Scrolling through hundreds of reviews on Sephora , Ulta and Nykka that you are not even sure you can trust and deciding which palettes are worth spending your money on can be so overwhelming.

Every eye, every skin color has different needs when it comes to shades and what types of formulas could work.

In this post I just want to divulge in my collection of eye-shadow palette .

HUDA BEAUTY - DESSERT DUSK PALETTE

From the very first day I fell in love with this palette.

The vibrant shades are designed to reflect the exotic landscape of the Arabian Desert from the rich sky at sunset to the shifting shades of the sand with dunes rich hues of changing plums , corals and gold.

This palette has shades that will force you to immerse in the soft warmth of desert .

The metallic purple and pink packaging features a beautiful picture of Huda Kattan, Founder and CEO.  The palette is cardboard luxe, sturdy and thick in size.  It also includes a sizable mirror on the inside.

It consists of 18 mesmerizing shades encapsulated in ready to go 4 textures

- 8 buttery mattes blending with your skin -

Blazing, Saffron, Amethyst, Oud, Amber, Eden, Musk, and Desert Sand.

( Vibrant purples and orches are my fav)

- 6 sublime pressed pearls casting a shimmery veil over your eyes -

Turkish Delight, Angelic, Cashmere, Royal, Nefertiti, and Blood Moon.

( I love using these)

- 3 duo - chrome toppers revealing their magic under the light -

Retrograde, Twilight, and Celestial.

These textures perfectly captures the ever- changing illusions of desert. ( You guys will literally get awestruck when you see how each shade transforms in light).

- 1 daring glitter

Cosmo

for audacious looks celebrating your inner desert goddess.

( Tip : adhesive should be used for it's application)

Things that i really like about this palette is that

It has high pigmentation , can easily be applied in one sweep . One reason for its high pigmentation is that it is talc - free.

IS REALLY EASY TO BLEND and hence gives a smooth application without any harsh lines.

Things I don't like about this palette

Amethyst shade is drier and more prone to sheering out.

Retrograde is difficult to for me to control with dry brush . It was easier for me to use it with damp brush which not only gave me even application but also greater coverage.

JAMES CHARLES - JAMES CHARLES * MORPHE

I love glam, but I also have a huge passion for crazy, colorful, outside-of-the-box makeup, and I created this palette with that in mind. I included every beautifully formulated shade necessary to create literally any look you could possibly imagine. I can’t wait to see what you come up with when you unleash your inner artist. -James Charles

James Charles * Morphy is an artist friendly palette which comes with total of 39 shades out of which 7 are big in size while rest are normal. I feel this palette is worth it's price for 39 pounds.

The pallet comes in a box with bubble wrap . It's a big sleek matte black palette. The packaging is great.

When you open the palette you can see a rainbow spectrum and might feel a little chaotic if you are used to neutrals / browns but the color choice is excellent .

Shades like purple and blue are bit patchy and does not blend easily.

Overall it's a big palette which can get difficult for you to carry.
